BARKING will be hard to master if he settles better than he did on debut and is given the benefit of the doubt in this ordinary maiden auction. Veeb is related to speedy types and is also open to improvement, while Millyluvstobouggie posted her best effort over course and distance, so the return to Windsor could be a vital ingredient in her bid to get off the mark. The last named hasn't really progressed from her first start, so there is an element of blind faith attached to supporting Clive Cox's charge. Veeb raced with plenty of zest before she faded close home in a similar race at Warwick in May. Mick Channon has given her plenty of time to get over the exertions and it would be noteworthy for the future if she were to post an improved effort tonight. Of the others: Chestival hung all over the track at Hamilton 10 days ago and was hardly one for the notebook, while Fairy Tales has been struggling to stay the minimum distance and appears to be a lost cause at the present time. King Cobra was another that failed to sparkle on debut and isn't difficult to leave out of the equation. Therefore, with all things considered, this does appear to be a good bit of placement by Richard Hannon as he sends Barking back into the fray. The son of Bahri was heavily punted when he was last seen out and, given the lack of obvious strength-in-depth to the opposition; he has a very feasible chance of rewarding those willing to give him another chance here.
