Give Me The Night had little chance behind Flashy Wings in the Queen Mary last time but back in this grade has an obvious chance and is taken to confirm Beverley form with Empress Jain and Danjet. The last mentioned looked useful early season but is becoming exposed now and was well held in sixth place behind the selection (fourth) in the Hilary Needler at Beverley, where Empress Jain finished ninth. Although the David Evans-trained mare performed better in the Queen Mary at York, she lacks the scope for improvement of the selection. Sounds Simla has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated but Ralph Beckett's filly cannot be discounted, while Surely Truly showed improved form last time and may be progressing. Although disappointing at the royal meeting, Give Me The Night had shown enough at Beverley to suggest that she could win a race of this nature and Ed Dunlop's filly is taken to do so.
