Verdict
An interesting maiden opens the card and a chance is taken that Grand Entrance can build on his debut run. Coburn also showed ability last time and is worth considering, while a move for well-bred newcomer Balian would also be interesting. The last named is a half-brother to the high-class Averti and several other useful sprinters. His yard have been struggling for juvenile winners this season, though. Which is obviously a little off-putting. Major Broughton is another worth a look, as the form of his latest start is working out well. Still, he does need to post a better display than he did on his introduction here in June. He may be better off in handicaps. Coburn was doing all his best work at the finish at Lingfield 12 days ago and will be hard to keep out of the frame with a similar effort. However, preference is given to Grand Entrance, who shaped up very well over course and distance on his racecourse bow earlier in the month. The son of Grand Lodge - a 165,000euros purchase as a foal - hails from a very shrewd yard and looks to have been found a good opportunity to start paying his way tonight.
