Maclean is not the most straightforward of customers but he has the talent to land this race and is preferred to Mikao and Perle D'Or. Gary Moore's four-year-old returns from a spell over hurdles, a game he took a while to get the hang of. He finished with a decent third to Atlantic City and with his enthusiasm rekindled he should go close off today's tempting mark. Mikao ended last campaign with a game victory over course and distance, beating Zakfree by a neck. If fit for his return he will be hard to keep out of the money. Perle d'Or must also be given a chance on her early season form of last year which include a hat-trick of victories. Best of the remainder could be the consistent Skylarker, but Maclean looks the pick of the handicap and gets our vote.
