Verdict
COLMAR KID sets a stiff standard for the others having attained an official BHA rating of 83 and Richard Hannon's colt can build upon a solid fifth in a fair Goodwood maiden. The trainer is also set to be represented by Global Icon so any money for the 50,000gns debutant should be respected. A half-brother to a three-time scorer over 1m2f, anything achieved at this stage of his career will be viewed as a bonus. Purcell hails from an in-form yard and he proved his debut to be all wrong when finishing third in a similar contest at Newbury. Sir Michael Stoute is not noted as a profilic trainer of juveniles but Marju Prince is worth a market check as his dam was a useful performer in nurseries during her racing career.
