Richard Hannon's record here is unsurpassed, and he could potentially have the 1-2-3 here, but of his runners we'll side with POPPY SEED ahead of Pose and Planet Red. It's the best looking race of the night, and Poppy Seed looks the pick of Hannon's trio, at least by jockey, with Richard Hughes on board. She's very progressive, having got better with every run, culminating in winning a maiden last time out at the fourth time of asking. It's never easy to win on handicap debut, but Hughes would have had the stable's pick, and who are we to argue with him. Planet Red is the best drawn of the trio, but hasn't lived up to the promise shown last year, when he raced at group level. Of the non-Hannon horses, Addictive has to give weight away all round apart from to Planet Red; from a poor draw he may try and come from off the pace. Pan American's an interesting runner, having his first outing since December, but he may be better on the all-weather. That could also apply to Pose, although she did win a Salisbury maiden in the spring. Hugely competitive this, with preference being for Poppy Seed.
