In depth

Verdict

An intriguing affair in which Inventor is taken to lift the prize with Kilcarra Boy and First Avenue put up as dangers. Inventor appeared to improve for time over the last season and having avoided the unkindest cut of all over the close season, it seems pretty clear that connections hold him in some regard. Trip and going hold no fears. Killcarra Boy has the edge of racefitness. A mark of 78 doesn't appear too bad although the assessor did have to base his assessment upon an exposed maiden of 76. First Avenue won a Yarmouth maiden on his second start. The other principals haven't gone on but there have been a couple outside of the front trio that have. The Betchworth Kid had fair form as a juvenile and Jamie Spencer is aboard tonight. Winter Bloom was ridden with a deal of restraint at Great Leighs and can be anticipated to have come on for the run. Top Ticket showed plenty of resolution at Bath and will not mind any rain should it arrive. Higgy's Boy has ran consistently without quite being good enough to get his head infront. This race will throw up its fair share of winners and we are with Inventor tonight.
