Verdict

Jacob's Pillow drops a grade after his second at Bath but is a pound higher. He is yet to finish out of the frame, however, so will be tough to beat but has to give 12lb to NEWTON'S LAW, which may prove beyond him. Connections try him in a hood today after he again failed to find much when beaten by My Inspiration here last time but the latter has a penalty now and Richard Hughes should now be familiar with his mount's quirks. Newmarket second Poetic Choice races on a rain-softened surface for the first time but Cordial wasn't disgraced on easy going at Leicester last week and could play a part.
