Verdict

Only six runners go to post for this two-year-old conditions race and it looks a good opportunity for Richard Hannon's CAPE TO RIO to get another win under his belt ahead of Scarlet Rocks. The selection was a very easy winner of his only start to date when hacking up in a Folkstone maiden. That wasn't the best race in the world but the third horse is a decent animal so the form looks solid enough. It was the manner of his victory that was most striking and looks to be a very nice colt. The bookies will have Cape To Rio as a short priced favourite but rule out Scarlett Rocks at your peril. David Evan's filly is very speedy and she is positioned for blast off against the favoured far side rail. She has her work cut out to beat the Hannon horse but with Cape To Rio drawn in one she may be able to steel a march from the get go. However, Cape To Rio is the selection.
