A tough maiden on paper and our short list includes Island Myth, Alcyon and Fondness and our verdict is to side with Island Myth. The Marcus Tregoning colt got a poor draw at Wolverhampton last time out and with the trainer in relatively fair form at this stage of the season, he will have been pleased to receive Monday evening's draw. Alcyon was well backed when second to Leningrad at Lingfield Park. The winner is well regarded so it would be folly to underestimate the value of the form. Fondness was very green on racecourse debut. Roger Charlton's maidens invariably run well at Windsor so the filly is very much watched in the market. Top Award is bred to get this trip and is a half-brother to winning miler Infatuate while Gavanello is likely to be fairly straight on first appearance. Gatecrasher could need further on breeding. Island Myth has a fair draw tonight and he secures the selection.
