took keen hold, tracked leaders, slipped on bend 5f out, ridden 4f out, soon dropped to rear
led after 3f, and raced freely, shaken up and in command final 2f, ridden out final furlong, readily
tracked winner over 5f out, ridden over 2f out, no impression, held final 2f
stumbled start, led for 3f, soon slipped badly on bend and lost 2nd, stayed on one pace final 2f
settled last, effort on outside over 2f out, soon one pace, no impression
Babodana and Home Affairs look the two on paper to concentrate on and it is to the former we offer our vote. Babodana has not tasted victory since winning the Lincoln in 2004 but he ran a stormer against Rob Roy last time out and does at least possess a finish in what is likely to be a tactical affair. Home Affairs won a Haydock handicap impressively and was touted as a horse of the future from that point onward. He has been expensive to follow but Sir Michael Stoute is a past master of improving horses from three to four and any market confidence should be headed. Momtic could be a possible front runner. He has to reverse form with Babodana but there is an obvious opportunity for him to pinch this race from the front. Take A Bow is a good traveller in his races although he has made finding little an unfortunate habit. The remainder look outclassed. Babodana could looks the play in a tactical race but will be priced accordingly.
