Five newcomers in a big field, with the remainder lightly raced, makes this a bit of a pin-stickers' affair, but we like the look of PIN CUSHION, who's joined on our shortlist by Starwatch and West Leake Star. Brian Meehan does well here and his filly qualifies for a mark after this race, which is at a lower grade than her previous outings. She did well to grab a place last time out after fluffing the start, but that represented an improved performance from debut and further progress is anticipated. Za Za Zoom wasn't far behind her in that race on her debut. West Leake Star and Starwatch are the most experienced and the only runners to have an official rating. Both have a positive high draw, and this represents a drop in class for both. The market can be a friend here, but in the absence of the ring we'll support Pin Cushion.
