Gaelic Tiger is progressing nicely as he showed at Hamilton and is just 3lb higher so he'll be supported to make his long journey pay off. GIBBS HILL (NAP) was going along well with victories at Sandown and Wolverhampton until stepping up markedly in class at York where he wasn't quite up to it. Roger Varian's grey is back in his right grade and looks the one to be on. Jacob Cats has done brilliantly to win ten races though it's a long time since he won at this level and Stockhill Diva was beaten such a long way on her reappearance here last month that she's best watched for now. Croquembouche has won eight times including on this track though it's a long time since his last success.
Jacob Cats 16-1 (9-7) In rear, headway over 1f out, kept on to take 3rd place towards finish, no impression, 3rd of 6, 3 1/4l behind Wadigor (9-10) at Kempton 1m 3f hcp (3) pol in May.
Gaelic Tiger 9-4fav (9-10) Made most, ridden and stayed on final furlong, won at Hamilton 1m 3f hcp (4) gd in Jun beating My Brother (9-7) by nk, 8 ran.
Stockhill Diva 5-1 (9-9) Took keen hold, held up in 4th place, pushed along and outpaced over 3f out, soon beaten, last of 4, 27 3/4l behind Sternrubin (8-13) at Windsor 1m 4f hcp (4) gd in May.
