Verdict
Poignant never looked like catching the winner when runner-up at Chelmsford but still finished clear of the others. He steps up to 6f for the first time while Weellan was beaten a long way when placed at Ripon on his debut. Crown Of Cortez and Jackontherocks look likely improvers but SAM JAMES showed good progress when fourth at Newcastle last time and he gets the nod to show further progress and open his account. Safrani and Here In The Dark are newcomers to note.
