      Verdict

Tartarus placed in a couple of maidens over this trip at Lingfield last month. Speak was thought good enough to run in the May Hill at Doncaster last year after winning her maiden at Kempton but missed the break and was well beaten. She should go close eased in grade, despite her penalty. The well-bred Chimed and MAPLEWOOD (NAP) both ran well on debut at Kempton last year. The latter runs here rather than at Newmarket on Wednesday and might be the more forward of the pair. Sky Legend is having a first run for a new stable but newcomer Liseo is worth a market check.
