ESTEEM MACHINE, Olynard and Doric Lady have the best recent form coming into this contest, the best on the card, and we'll side with the first named. Roger Teal's having a decent season, due in no small part to Esteem Machine, who won a similar race last time out at Newmarket, despite a slow start. He'd been away tardily previously over five furlongs at Epsom, but the step up in trip gave him extra time to put things right. A similar run tonight could see him back in the winners' enclosure. Ralph Beckett won this race last year, and Olynard is his hope this time around. Along with Phantom Whisper, he's a course and distance winner. That was last month in his last outing, but at a lower grade than this. He's got a good high draw though, and along with Esteem Machine, plenty in hand with top weighted Pearly Wey. Doric Lady wins every other race she takes part in, and if the sequence of almost a year is followed she'll be triumphant here. Kirsty Milczarek has been on board for all the wins and comes here for just this one ride tonight. Although towards the bottom of the weights she's never won off as high a mark as she's on now. Her draw's OK though, and followers of trends may be supporting her. However, we think the most likely winner is Esteem Machine.
