Richard Hannon's Valiant Knight became expensive to follow as a two-year-old when failing to win in five starts and he may do better this term but may prefer a bit of cut in the ground and a better bet looks to be SOVIET SECRET, who gets the vote over Baltimore Clipper. Paul Cole's colt showed a consistent level of form last term without winning in five starts but disappointed on his reappearance when last of five behind Activate at Kempton last month so he may be best watched, although the return to turf may bring about improvement. Ed Dunlop's Latent Light was beaten a long way out on his Newbury debut last month and he needs to improve greatly on that to get involved, while Andrew Balding's Roanstar faces no easy task on his debut but should be monitored in the market. Marcus Tregoning's Strawberry Rose should come on for her debut run behind Mainstay at Doncaster last month but more solid claims are held by Soviet Secret, who stayed on well when chasing home Diescentric in the Wood Ditton last month and he has obvious claims with this looking to be a drop in grade.
