Verdict

A competitive affair for the prize money and a race which sees the hat-trick seeking Dragons Voice and Optimum Time defending unbeaten records on the track. Employer, Sir Plato and Kingston Kurrajong are all course and distance winners but a first victory since June last year continues to elude Christopher Wood, who has gone up 3lb since his latest second at Newcastle. Glassy Waters has a lengthy absence to overcome but could be anything while Secret Return is still running well. AWALII is having a first run on Turf but Simon Crisford’s colt is the least exposed of these and was always travelling best in a maiden at Kempton last month – he might be well treated on a mark of 84 on that evidence.
