This is probably an above-average maiden hurdle but it will be a surprise if MONBEG WORLDWIDE isn’t a warm order. Though he failed to land the odds twice over hurdles last season and hasn’t raced since December, he remains a novice of some potential and has the best form on offer. Visioman won at Clonmel in May but was disqualified after a banned substance was found in a post-race sample. He’s also finished second twice at Kilbeggan this year so shouldn’t be far away again. Choungaya was placed three times in bumpers but beaten by Sweet Flight at Wexford in June with Mullins gelding going on to finish second at Tramore on his hurdles bow. Rare Conor hasn’t been beaten far in any of his four runs over timber while Pike County won a Ballinrobe bumper in July.
