Verdict

There are some nicely-bred and expensively-bought two-year-olds in this maiden and the form should be worth following. Phantom Flipper is the only one of Richard Hannon's trio with racecourse experience but Richard Hughes rides Toledo, who is a half-brother to several winners, while Ryan Moore partners the 160,000gns Dark Angel colt Torment. Phantom Flipper was more than two lengths behind MENAI at Haydock in the race won by Aleko. The winner never got competitive in Saturday's Woodcote Stakes at Epsom but that still looks decent form and Charlie Hills' colt, who cost 100,000gns, can put his experience to good use here. Godolphin's Human Nature was another relatively costly purchase and is a half-brother to Forgotten Hero among others, though may need further.
