A very interesting novice stakes as several of these are likely to prove useful over middle-distances this year. John Gosden won it last year and it’s reasonable to expect big improvement from WILL OF IRON, who missed the break and then ran green when making his racecourse debut over a mile at Newcastle in January. He’s out of a Galileo mare and a half-brother to the stable’s Astronomy’s Choice, who stayed 1m4f. Days Of Glory finished second at Chelmsford in November and still has scope with unraced stable companion Lexington Warlord also worth a market check. The filly All Right is another nicely-bred newcomer and Teodora De Vega has shown some ability but Global Falcon and London Eye probably need more.
