        Verdict

        HEAVEN FORFEND, rated 92, can get his career back on track by making a winning reappearance. A son of Frankel, he finished ahead of Group 1 winner Golden Horde on debut last year before finishing sixth in the Chesham Stakes. He disappointed on his final start at Sandown but should be a stronger horse this season. Taawfan was no match for the odds-on Manigordo at Sandown but will know more today while the extra furlong will suit Newmarket third Mark Of Gold, though Conscious was more of an eye-catcher at Kempton.
