Verdict

A One caused a bit of a shock last time but has more obvious claims today and he can beat Little Telchar and Doris Souter. Racing from 4lb out of the handicap, A One made a splendid debut for his new connections, who had bought him with the intention of going hurdling. He may have been flattered to win as easily as he did, but the time was very fast and another victory looks on the cards. Littleton Telchar is very hard to assess, he got the better of the well touted Cumani newcomer Summer Serenade here last time. He has to shoulder top-weight in this contest but his form could turn out to be quite decent. Doris Souter is not the most reliable of animals but ran well over course and distance last time when third to Miss Pebbles, a repeat of that effort should see her battling for a place. Street Life with the champion aboard may do best of the rest, but A One is taken to land the hat-trick.
