      Verdict

      Velvet Waters can make experience count against First Show and Without A Trace. A confirmed fast ground lover, Velvet Waters tends to put up his better performances in smaller fields and if Steve Carson can get to the front to dictate terms, it will take a fair performance to get by. First Show has largely been campaigned on the all-weather. He was comfortably held during an Epsom maiden but with his stable doing so well, it would be folly to ignore any market positivity. Its obviously taken some time for the penny to drop for Without A Trace. There is little doubt that she was an impressive winner at Hamilton Park but that was on a soft surface and she didn't appear to act on her first look around Windsor earlier on in the season. The Chequered Lady and Marhaba Million will need to show much improved form to win this while The Player has reportedly had injury problems that have affected the regularity of his visits to the races. A confident ride could win this race and we believe that Velvet Waters has all the right ticks in the right boxes.
