Verdict

Both of Like A Prayer's victories so far have come on the Polytrack and he was well beaten off today's mark at Newmarket back on Turf. After The Goldrush is tried in blinkers but is proving frustrating and Royal Encounter is also struggling to get his head in front. Jersey Brown keeps finding one too good while Orlando Star may have stamina issues but lightly-raced RED VELOUR appeared to last home over the trip at Newmarket and shouldn't be written off just yet. He has more scope than the majority of these so gets the nod with Warwick winner Ixelles Diamond reverting to type at Nottingham next time.
