The shortlist contains Miss Provvidence, Nero's Return and Pevensey, with the vote going to Miss Provvidence. Miss Provvidence looked very promising last season, winning three of her last four races, the only defeat in that sequence being in a Group 3 race. She could be well handicapped this year, although her stable has yet to really start firing. Mudawin is three pounds below his Ascot win of two years ago, so can't be ruled out on that basis. Humble Opinion is open to improvement this year, while Nero's Return is on the mark from which he won last September, so has to come into the reckoning. Mustajed lacked nothing in consistency in the second half of last season, although he lacks a recent run, while Pevensey is now two pounds below a winning mark from last summer, so is entitled to some thought. Thyolo is well-weighted on form of old and ran pretty well at Newbury last time in a first-time visor. Overall, though, we will take a chance on Miss Provvidence.
