Verdict

The Kings Writ won at Warwick in December and has placed in both starts since so goes on the shortlist here. Duc De Beauchene continually flatters to deceive but can’t get much lower in the weights and he was a long way in front of Pemberley when a beaten favourite last time at Hereford. FLYING VERSE, from a yard that targets these events, is best on quicker surfaces but does handle good to soft. He arrives off the back of a relatively easy win in one of these at Doncaster so is taken to follow up as long as the rains stay away.
