Bally Longford’s recent close-up second at Lingfield came over a longer trip in heavy going. He’s never won over this short a distance before and ADMIRAL’S SECRET (NAP) looks a better proposition. The latter ended last season with a double and was having his first start since when finding one too good at Exeter last month. Expected to be sharper today, Vic Dartnell’s charge can go one better. Beau Bay is another likely to finish much closer after a recent outing at Taunton and went close at Ascot back in March. He’s preferred to Ontopoftheworld, who would prefer faster ground while Dicosimo continues to struggle.
