Quid Pro Quo, Earth Man and Matthew Muroto are the three for the shortlist in the bumper with the vote going to Quid Pro Quo. The gelding from the Paul Nicholls yard won a similar event at Taunton last time when defeating Lord Killeshanra, and with conditions in his favour again he will be difficult to beat. Earth Man could give him the most to do as he is a well-bred sort, but he looks the second string on jockey bookings and may have to settle for place money. Matthew Muroto caught the eye when a strong finishing third behind Flying Falcon over this course and distance last time. He is open to further improvement so should go well, but the Nicholls yard will have a form line through this horse as they saddled the second horse home Emanate in that race. As always in these type of events the market should be closely monitored for clues, but Quid Pro Quo has got solid form and will take a good deal of beating.
