In depth

Verdict

This is a potentially informative contest featuring a clutch of promising novices. Connetable has his allowance and won a Listed race over hurdles at Sandown last season. Brother Tedd has been quite highly tried over fences so far and this looks slightly easier. Wishing And Hoping was in the process of giving the useful Baron Alco a race at Plumpton when falling two out while Sir Ivan was a consistent performer over hurdles. Robinsfirth may need this but should be followed, though BARNEY DWAN looks the one to be on today. Fergal O’Brien’s six-year-old had jumped superbly until getting the last all wrong at Kempton and opening the door for Potters Legend. The latter went on to follow up at Bangor and was second in a Grade 2 at Doncaster on Saturday.
