Verdict

Surfboard bounced back to winning form at Plumpton last time and can follow up this afternoon, Pauntley Gofa and Jupon Vert look to be the main rivals. The selection pulled hard in the early stage and the jockey did well to restrain him. However when he took the lead at the second last he was going very easily and was well in command at the line. The winning margin doesn't really reflect how comfortable a success it was and he could be still ahead of the handicapper. Jupon Vert can always be relied upon to run his race and with AP on board we expect this one to be in the shake up. A bigger threat though may come from Pauntley Gofa. This one hit winning form with a vengeance, easily beating today's rival Bollitree Bob. There could be more to come and he will be a tough nut to crack. The rest make little appeal and so we return to Surfboard as the likely winner.
