In depth

Verdict

Shane Fitzgerald made a successful start to his professional riding career at Clonmel on Thursday where he gained many admirers and he's been snapped up for GLORIOUS GALWAY, a very easy winner over 3m at Limerick before finding 2m3f too short on a return visit. Envoi Pierji went up 7lb for scoring at Down Royal but made too many mistakes when attempting a double at Navan. Four-times winning point-to-pointer Super Citizen scored over 2m5f at Leopardstown but ran poorly over this trip when well supported at Fairyhouse. Wrong Direction is a smart hunter-chaser these days and on a fair mark but Spancil Hill is up 6lb for his Clonmel victory and on his highest ever mark. Champagne Beauty would be one to note if getting a run from her reserve spot.
