In depth

Verdict

The once promising Orgilgo Bay reappeared after a very long break with a run on the Flat last month and may need another outing while Shadagann hasn't run since October and was well beaten when last seen over hurdles. Jaime Sommers has a mountain to climb on official figures so this looks between Stars Over The Sea and VEINARD. The former, a winner over timber for David Pipe and on the Flat for Mark Johnston, will be better for his run behind Diakali at Fairyhouse though was beaten a long way and it's Gordon Elliott's charge who gets the vote. He's only won once in 18 starts over hurdles but last month's second to Thomas Hobson in a Grade A handicap at Fairyhouse sets the standard and he should double his winning tally.
