Verdict

Next Stage won on his reappearance over a slightly shorter trip here last month. Unexposed, he should make a bold bid to follow up off a 6lb higher mark as his only poor run so far came on soft going. But BALLET CONCERTO won the Spring Mile at Doncaster on his first run since being gelded and it would be no surprise if he developed into a pattern race performer this year so he can defy a 5lb rise in the weights here. Sir Michael Stoute also runs Playful Sound, who won her first three last year before finding Listed company too hot at Newbury. Grapevine was only beaten a nose over 1m2f at Newbury on his comeback and looks set for a good season while Central Square is a reliable sort in this grade. Lincoln fifth Dolphin Vista and Abareeq, who got no run at Epsom, are also worth considering.
