Roxyfet hasn’t won for more than a year but is 12lb lower and has been knocking on the door again lately. All of his rivals are more recent winners, however, though Ever So Much went right off the boil in the autumn and hasn’t raced since October. Market Rasen winner GIN COBBLER was still going well when falling at Newcastle in a race in which Roxyfet eventually finished third. He is taken to gain compensation here as he is possibly better treated than both Chestnut Ben and Akula.
