In depth

Verdict

BOB MAHLER (NAP) should really have won one of these before now but he’s been only narrowly beaten the last twice by useful novices and the form of both races has been franked. Rhaegar looks the only danger on paper having dead-heated in a conditionals’ race at Chepstow in December. However, the form of that race hasn’t worked out and he turned in a shocker at Wincanton subsequently. Former pointer Shanroe Tic Tec was a 100/1 chance when third in a Class 5 event at Huntingdon on his debut under Rules and looks nothing special with Rowdy Robin and Brascoe probably better long-term prospects.
