Verdict

Grand Du Nord didn’t get far here at the start of the month but wasn’t beaten far by CURLEY FINGER (NAP) at Hexham in the spring and is slightly better off at the weights. But Rebecca Menzies’ charge took a big step forward here on his reappearance when trying to give weight to 13 rivals and he’ll improve again for that run. Sporting Mike will need to defy a 10lb rise if he is to follow up a Southwell victory last month but Prairie Wolf should be capable of better now going handicapping and Where's Hector usually attracts market support. Copperfasten has a staying pedigree but was soon left behind at Exeter last time and Sedgefield maiden winner Maggie Barrett makes more appeal.
