Verdict
An intriguing little contest with Flight Command anticipated to concede a penalty to his three rivals. The Beaumont stable invariably target a prize or two at this meeting and while Flight Command is probably not the best horse ever to don the Bannister colours, he will prove difficult to pass if his rivals allow him a soft lead again this afternoon. Former pointer Calvic has to rate as a major danger given his recent form. Although his critics will point to an incredibly slow time posted on the "Good to soft" at Haydock - that didn't tell the tale of his race and once his jumping warmed up, he looked a very useful recruit. Torche stays all day although this task could be more difficult for him if they go slow in the early exchanges. Powder Creek has won twice over hurdles at Wetherby and is likely to be outsider of four following two modest outings over the bigger obstacles this term. A headscratcher for punters but Flight Command can follow up a recent victory under a 6lb penalty.
