Grey Report is the only runner here for Phillip Hobbs and he can land this four runner affair from Provocative and Stormy Lord. This former top class hurdler made his debut over fences at Newbury last time behind Misterthetrixster. He attempted to put on the brakes at the Paddock exit, just as he had done over hurdles at Aintree. He eventually regained his momentum but effectively had kissed the race goodbye. If he can keep his mind on the job today he should have too much class for these. Provocative beat Carapuce in good style at Carlisle back in November and was then just touched off at the same track by Vandas Choice. Any more rain will aid his cause and he looks the main threat to the selection. Stormy Lord landed a three runner event at Market Rasen last month but had his limitations exposed next time at Newcastle when well behind Supreme Developer, he should fight out the third spot with Edmo Yewkay. The last named has finished placed in three moderate contests and does need to improve to land this event. So Grey Report, if he doesn't mess about should land this tricky event
