Song Of The Night is unlucky not to have won but keeps going up in the weights and his recent good form has been on quicker ground. JOSEPH MERCER was pulled up three times over fences before reverting to hurdles in a first-time visor over this course and distance last month where he recorded his best run. He again ran well over the bigger obstacles here a couple of weeks ago and looks the one to be on. Grand Enterprise signalled an imminent victory when a close third at Catterick and took advantage of a 5lb drop in the weights to gain his first success at Doncaster. He's back up 7lb but looks on the upgrade so should be thereabouts at the finish. Kelsey easily won a Towcester handicap in February but that was over 2m3f and he's been very disappointing over longer trips subsequently, despite strong support in all of his races. Dutch Canyon has now had 18 starts without winning and, though dropped to his lowest mark, is difficult to fancy.
