Culcabock is preferred to Farne Isle in a trappy affair. Doug Costello had the luxury of taking off his goggles and looking for non-existent dangers when Lucinda Russell's gelding hacked up at Kelso. He was off a very light racing weight on that day but the effort wasnt unexpected as the horse had been showing signs of a return to form on his two previous starts. Farne Isle would have chances if returning to form. He won during last summer on heavy and would have been selected here had Geoff Harker's team been in better form. Supreme Leisure has not managed to build on his earlier British efforts and was very disappointing at Haydock last time out. Karathena is three pounds lower than on her previous attempt at the trip around Wetherby. Her claimer takes off another seven. Stormy Lord looks likely to lead early. Aldirous and Imtihan are hard to fancy. Culcabock is nominated this afternoon.
