Gassin Golf must be among the best maiden hurdlers in training but he continues to climb up the weights. He is 8lb higher than when second in a Grade 3 at Sandown in March having chased home the classy Arctic Fire at Punchestown on his latest start. No one would begrudge him a first success but he'll probably find at least one too good again. Springinherstep was just touched off at Ludlow last month but is 5lb higher while Knight In Purple, winner of this for the two years, hasn't raced since October and is 6lb higher than 12 months ago. Laudatory also has an absence to overcome and is better on sharper tracks but Dubai Prince has claims and is preferred to Fujin Dancer and Town Mouse. PAIR OF JACKS is progressing through the ranks and is worth a stab at this higher grade after a smooth success at Sedgefield - he gets the nod in a competitive handicap.
