Prince Tam has had 27 career starts but only one here when he was well beaten. He has more to do here but Le Roi Rouge always goes well on the track and is very well handicapped at his best so must be considered. Kilkenny All Star ran poorly at Catterick last time as did Storm Surge at Kelso but the latter had been in very good form previously and is only 5lb higher than for his success at Haydock. The veteran Polar Gunner has won eight times over fences and can never be ruled out in this class but it's BORDER REIVER who gets the nod as he's now on the same mark as when scoring over the C&D in May and gave notice of an imminent success at Leicester last time.
