Verdict

WILD CARD's defeat of Twelve Roses at Towcester in April was decent form and it's no surprise that Jason Maguire has chosen him ahead of Donald McCain's other runner Darlington County. The six-year-old can defy his penalty here ahead of Rock A Doodle Do, third at Aintree in June, and the more exposed Mister Bricolage and Three Kingdoms. The latter should find a small race somewhere before much longer, however, while Herostatus has hinted at ability. Red Eyes won at Sedgefield last month while Kilbree Chief and Rocky Island have both been successful in a point-to-point.
