    Verdict

Star Time can outstay his opponents in the finale, the best of whom may be Kinburn and Hurricane Bay. The latter was pulled up over fences at Hexham last time and in fact has yet to win over hurdles, but did score over the bigger obstacles here in May 2003, so should not be totally ruled out. However, more solid claims are held by Star Time who will appreciate the step back up in trip after staying on well over Towcester's two miles and five furlongs last time. That was his best form yet and he is slightly better handicapped than in the past, so a big run is in the offing. Kinburn was outpaced over three miles on his last start at Hexham in May, and with a superb jumping pedigree, by Roselier out of a Supreme Leader mare, he will be one to follow when sent over fences. Flying High is also worth a mention as he shaped quite well when second at Sedgefield in September. Without being overly confident, the improving Star Time is the selection.
