Rambling Minster appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to gain another course and distance success, with Ammonias and Tom Fruit the pair to give him most to do. Rambling Minster was still in the care of Mrs Reveley when scoring here in May, and was put away for the summer afterwards. He won that day despite pulling too hard early on and not being entirely at home on the softish ground, and if straight enough, should have everything in his favour today providing they do not dawdle. The form of that win over Flight Command is the best on offer, although Ammonias would not be too far behind judged on the company that he has kept. The German-bred was unplaced in the Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle at Cheltenham in March and has not been seen out since then. He is one to note, and makes more appeal than Tom Fruit who has not been seen since landing a Doncaster bumper in March 2003. He could be anything in time but will not be rushed, and on this occasion will find Rambling Minster a tough rival.
