In depth

Verdict

A small but competitive affair for this staying handicap chase and the TEAMtalk selection is Flat Top. The gelding from the Mick Easterby yard has shown a liking for this track is proven on the ground and he still had every chance when unshipping his rider at Catterick recently. Sad Mad Bad rates the main danger. The gelding from the Mary Reveley yard is some what of an enigma but he won well on the course last time out when defeating Interdit and if he is in the same mood he will be hard to beat. Raffles Rooster has plenty to find with Flat Top on his last run last season at Newbury but he usually runs well fresh. Donnybrook won well at Haydock but he looked in the handicappers grip when fourth behind Curly Spencer at Newcastle last time out.Courage Under Fire is also worthy of consideration he won an easier race at Fontwell in good style last time out but this looks more competitive. Wonder Weasel has plenty of weight for what hew has archived of late and Heidi III is woefully out of form.
