      Verdict

Red Astaire and Muddy Lynn came home second and third in a Class 6 Redcar handicap over this trip just over a week ago and meet on identical terms here. The former was displaying a real jolt of improvement on previous runs this term but there was only a head between the pair and neither are the most consistent of performers. Therefore, it might be worth taking them on with MAGICAL EFFECT. Ruth Carr's gelding has yet to strike form this term but was a little better last time and has a decent chance if recovering the level of form shown in the second half of last season. Asmund has a similar profile over the past year and is not discounted either in a tricky contest.
