DASHEL DRASHER was very highly tried after making a winning reappearance at Aintree around this time last year but was a brave second in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Thyme Hill was runner-up in the Stayers’ Hurdle in 2022 but is probably better over fences nowadays, as is Ga Law. Red Risk was well beaten on his only previous try over 3m and Botox Has is inconsistent and held on the form book but Irish raider Ambitious Fellow won a Listed handicap at Galway in the summer, though faces a stiff task at the weights.
Ambitious Fellow (IRE) 14-1 (11-1) Rear of mid-division, good headway on inner to lead 2 out, soon pushed along, joined last where not fluent, ridden and led narrowly run-in, kept on well under pressure closing stages, won at Galway 2m 6f hcp lst (1) sft in Aug beating Bugs Moran (10-11) by 3/4l, 16 ran.
Botox Has (FR) 15-2 (11-8) Pressed leader, led 7th, headed next, lost 2nd before 2 out, soon outpaced, weakened from final bend, 4th of 7, 15l behind Gold Tweet (11-2) at Cheltenham 3m (1) sft in Jan.
Dashel Drasher 13-2 (11-10) Tracked leaders on inside, went 2nd 7th, close up 3 out, bumped before 2 out, weakened before last, 6th of 10, 28 3/4l behind Sire Du Berlais (11-10) at Aintree 3m 1f (1) gs in Apr.
Ga Law (FR) 25-1 (11-10) Never really travelling in last, mistake 5th, reminder 8th, well behind when mistake 4 out, pulled up before 3 out, at Aintree 3m 1f (1) gs in Apr.
