Conditions will be testing so CHERIE D’AM’s mares’ allowance could be invaluable. She won a point by 20 lengths less than a year ago and, though not beating much, landed a bumper at Uttoxeter on her debut under Rules with both of those victories coming on soft ground. Brook Bay, also engaged at Ascot, has hurdling experience and the Uttoxeter runner-up would be a danger if turning up here. Paddy O'Mahler was fourth over course and distance last month and a number of these have won between the flags. Hey Brother and Dontyawantme could also go well.
